In the previous 1950s, Cuba was a hedonistic destination for North Americans. Gangsters like Lucky Luciano, Meyer Lansky, and Al Capone drew a shady veil over Havana. They built hotels, casinos, clubs, cinemas, and brothels for their convenience. The business sector was mainly owned by American industrialists. The Cuban president, Fulgencio Batista, dictator, and puppet of the USA, let it happen.

A man stood up!

It was Fidel's second attempt. In 1953 he got arrested, went to prison, got amnesty and fled to Mexico.
In 1956 he returns to his homeland and goes ashore to expel the Americans.
Slowly, the revolution crawls through the Sierra Maestra mountains. Christmas 1958, Che Guevara won the decisive battle in Santa Clara. A week later, New Year's Eve, President Batista rushes to the Dominican Republic. On January 2, 1959, El Che and Camilo Cienfuegos are the first to march into Havana receiving loud cheers from an enormous Cuban crowd, followed on 8 January by Fidel and his younger brother Raúl.

Many Americans and the collaborating Cuban elite left the island in a hurry, leaving behind half a million American cars, many of them still driving today.
In the afternoon, visiting the NostalgiCar's restoration workshop you can see how they get a complete facelift.

Remarks:

- A maximum of 4 people can take place in one car (plus driver).

- This is what is called a panoramic tour, which means that you see the mentioned places from the car, but do not enter them, with the exception of the restoration workshop. However, if you want to visit a certain place, do not hesitate to ask the driver. In the event that an entrance fee is requested, you can pay this on the spot.

- Lunch is not included and the tour lasts about 5 hours. If you get hungry, ask the driver to stop somewhere to buy a sandwich.

- The car is available for a maximum of 8 hours. If you want to go home after the visit to the workshop, that's fine. If you would like to tour a bit further or want to be dropped off somewhere, it is also possible.

- Our drivers are drivers. They are professional, experienced and guarantee safe transport. However, they are not guides and are not all multilingual.
